T-26C on the background |

Finn soldiers crowd around a captured Russian
train. |

A Finnish tanker making repairs to his captured
light tank. |

Finn troop unloading shells from a captured
Russian behemoth, a KV1. Notice the missing wheel. |

The Finn soldier has placed a Russian hat
(found in the tank) on top of the gun barrel. The writing on the picture
reads, roughly, "The Russian left so fast, he forgot his hat!" |

The Russian soldiers froze where they fell. |

A Finnish "graves detail" picking up frozen
bodies from the battlefield. |

There were many women that
served in the Red Army both in staff and front line positions. During the
Winter War, many were killed or captured by the Finns. |

Russian casualties during the Winter War fighting
in 1939. |

Remains of a motti. These Russians were caught
after their unit was surrounded. They fought to the end. |

Russian equipment litters a battlefield. |

Finnish cavalry move past abandoned Russian armor
and anti-tank cannons. |

Russian prisoners sit on the ground while
soldiers and townspeople look on. Notice the Finn soldier in the black
leather panzer jacket. (on the left) |

Russian armored cars sit abandoned. A Finnish
soldier has laid claim to the one in the middle. |

Probably 7.62 KK/09-21 training MG ("- KK / H -"
especially if written with yellow colour could mean "MG/Training"). |

Cannon within a Finn camp. "French 90 mm
"Materiel de 90 de campagne Mle 1877" |

This is 76 K/02 (or its modernized Soviet
conversions 76 K/02-30 or
longer-barreled 76 K/02-30/40). Actual calibre 76.2 mm. This was the most
numerous Finnish field gun during the war (altogether over 330 pcs) |
This is a special addendum to the page

"If I may guess, photo no 2, 3 and 4 are from the first anniversary parade in
Äänislinna on 1 October 1942.
I haven't actually seen these pictures before,
but the surroundings look very similar to other pictures from this parade.
Also, even though it's difficult to see, the vehicles doesn't look like they
have the camouflage scheme adopted for
vehicles in April 1943.
Pic 2: The KV-1 m 1942 (registration R-100) was captured in the vicinity of
the Svir powerplant
in the spring of 1942. Also captured there was the T-34
model 42 (Registration number R-155 ((or 231-4 after summer 1943))
in Finnish
service). Its turret is very similiar to a model 43, but it was actually
manufactured in 1942 and the turret is
called "composite" because of the
structure of the casting.
The other T-34 is a model 1941 (Registration number R-105
((or 231-2)) in
Finnish service) captured in the autumn of 1941.
Pic 6: The newly captured KV in soviet winter camo.
Pic 7: Would be a T-34 with the number Ps 231-7, a model 43 captured by the
Germans and sold to Finland.
Arrived in Finland with two more T-34 model 43´s
on 2nd July 1944. It is now on display at Parola tank museum.
Pic 8: Would be a T-34 with the number Ps 231-1. It was recovered from lake
Segozero in September 1943.
It's a model 40 built in 1941 with the muzzle
brake added after capture. Also on display at Parola.
Pic 9: You can see the KV-1 model 41 (or E) which was captured in spring 1942
and therefore I'd guess that this is
also a picture from the Äänislinna -42
parade. All vehicles on this picture also looks to be Finnish dark green.
